After getting two over-time losses in their last two games, BC Kalev/Cramo was crushed today in St. Petersburg where they lost to hosting Zenit 69:101. That was their second biggest loss of the season and also 20th to go with 7 victories. But the chance to finish as the second best not-Russian team is still alive.

Todays game was basically lost in the first quarter when Zenit came out strong and led 30:10 after 10 minutes. Interestingly Kalev got their first defensive rebound in the 10th minute, that’s how good Zenit started. During the second quarter Kalev replied with a 16:2 run to get the deficit down to 8 points until Ryan Toolson caught fire. Toolson, who played in Malaga Unicaja last season scored 24 points in the first half. In the second half Kalev couldn’t get back in to the game and the game was done. Rain Veideman scored a VTB season high 20 points while Rolands Freimanis added 16 points and King 10. Toolson finished the game with 31 while Kaspars Berzins added 20 points.
