What a win!09-04-2015

To start from the beginning, Krasnõi Oktjabr started the game great with a 0:13 run, which maybe was the wake up call for Kalev, because after that the Estonian team fought for every loose ball and the game went on to be a thriller where the hosts finished strong and won  82 : 80 .
For Kalev, this was their 11th win of the season which boosted them to the last play-off spot in VTB at the moment.

Oleksi Pecherov who made the crucial last 2 free-throws had 25 points and 8 rebounds, Scott Machado added 21 points and 9 assists. The hero of the game might be Kristjan Kitsing with who Kalev was +14 when he was playing. He finished with 7 points and a memorable dunk but the main thing he brought to the game was stopping Lamont Hamilton, who started great. In the end Hamilton Had 26 points and 12 rebounds but couldn’t find the basket in the second half.

Legendary coach Dirk Bauermann said after the game that the missed free-throws cost them the game. “We started well but the score at the end speaks for itself,” said the dissapointed german.

First thing after the game, Alar Varrak wanted to praise Kitsing for the great job he did. ” I have to admit, at first they overplayed us, they had a new play which brought them a lot of easy three point shots which they all made. Fortunately we had a guy on the bench who stopped Hamilton which helped us greatly.”
