We got our third win!27-01-2017

BC Kalev/Cramo gave the fans a proper show defeating Parma  85:79 and got their third win in 14 games. To earn 10 points from free-throws against opponents 21, to lose the rebounds 26:45, to make 16 turnovers and lose the last quarter 14:31 and still win… that’s kind of a miracle.
Rain Veideman was on fire! He only needed one more point to update his scoring record in VTB finishing with 26 points and really efficient shooting (11/16). Demonte Harper had 21 points and 6 rebounds while also making 8 turnovers. Tollefsen assisted with 16 and Liutych 15 points. A bad day for our bigs who couldn’t hit a shot from the field. For Parma, 21 year old Ivan Uhhov scored 20 points, while Danilo Andjusic, who Kalev feared the most had only 10 points. Newest addition Sasa Zagorac had an off day with 6 points.
The game turned out to be a wild american railway where Kalev almost gave away their 23 point lead. After a perfect first quarter (at one point led the game 27:5 and finished 13/16 from the field) things didn’t continue as well in the second quarter, the visitors tightened their defense and got their offense running but Veideman made two threes and managed to take the lead back to 15 going into the second half. Third quarter the lead went from 15 to 11 to 19 and the hosts had a comfortable 71:48 lead going to the final quarter.
The last quarter ended up being a valuable learning experience for Kalev. The hosts became sloppy with their lead and trying to just end the game made it worse which led to a 16:2 run for Parma and a minute before the end the lead was cut down to 5 but fortunately, the time did it’s job and a turnover from Parma 40 seconds before the end took away Parma’s chance to get their first win in Estonia.
Kalev will face Astana on 5th of february in their next VTB game.
