After seven years of waiting the Estonian Cup finally becomes BC Kalev/Cramo’s who beat Tartu University/Rock in the final in Kuressaare 73:55 (34:24). For Kalev, who only played with 7 guys today, Rain Veideman had a big game with 26 points (FG 10/16), Martin Dorbek with a Ricky Rubio like game – 10 points, 7 steals, 6 assists 5 rebounds while latvian Rolands Freimanis had 16 points and 9 rebounds. Final tournament MVP was given to Josh Boone, who today scored 8 and grabbed 10 rebounds.

Gert Dorbek had 15 points for Rock, the season series against old rivals is now 2:0 for BC Kalev/Cramo.

The game was tight and contested for only 20 minutes. Even though Rock won the first quarter 13:12, Kalev got their game going in the last 5 minutes of the first half, ending the first half 34:24. The second half started with a 9:0 run for Kalev who from that point led the game until the end. Rock clawed their way back 7 minutes before the end but after being scoreless for around 4 minutes, Arbet scored for Kalev and the game didn’t get tight again.

Alar Varrak after the game said that they deserved the win and controlled the game 40 minutes, he also added: “One goal for the season has now been reached!” Regarding Josh Boone’s small injury and Gregor Arbet’s head injury he noted: ” 9-10 man rotation didn’t work yesterday so today we decided to play with 7 guys. Hopefully guys who injured themselves will be able to play against Himki on wednesday.”
