KALEV/CRAMO – TBILISI VITA 85:75

Kalev: Rolands Freimanis 20 points (4/10 from three), 6 rebounds, 5 assists. Marco Killingsworth 19 points (9/10 from the field) and 7 rebounds. Sten Sokk 15 points (3/4 from three), 4 rebounds and 5 assists. Josh Boone 13 points 11 rebounds. Vita: Oleksandr Lipovõi 22, Ralston Turner 14 and Darius Carter 13 points.

Kalev/Cramo, who plays in their seventh season in VTB faced debutante Tbilisi BC Vita offered the crowd who game to Saku Suurhall a great game. Was it as good as it was during the times of Tammiste and Kuusmaa, who in their time battled against Tbilisi Dünamo? Quite close, because Vita had one of their best games this season.

It doesn’t happen much that Kalev/Cramo is a clear cut favourite before the game, but today facing a team that lost their 4 games of the season by a margin on 35,5 points per game, it was a must win. It was a hard fought win for the Estonian side.

The deciding moments started 6,5 minutes before the end of the game when Ralston Turners fourth three pointer put Vita up 67:65. After again being in a tight game like they were against Bisons, Kalev/Cramo held their heads cool and thanks to 3 baskets from both Killingsworth and Freimanis the score was 78:70 for Kalev and 3 minutes to go but Vita did not give up, Lipovõi made his fourth three pointer and Carter scored and Vita was behind by three but 4 missed shots, a turnover and an unsportsmanslike behaviour foul later Killingsworth scored and the game was done.
