Tanel Sokk: „So far we haven’t been very successful in winning tie games. I’m glad we did tonight. This win was much needed and waited. This was probably one of the best wins in recent years. Feels good to beat Turkish silver medalist and current leader! We could’ve had few more wins, but on the other hand, we only lost badly to same Banvit in the beginning of EuroCup season. In all other games we have stayed in the game. I would like to say good words about my teammates- everybody always comes in ready to play for a win. We have not let tough losses get to us mentally.
Alar Varrak: „ Today we played as a team, everybody contributed. Plus extra good game from Tanel. Today we finally pulled it through – played well all 40 minutes. However there was few critical moments, but luckily we were strong enough today, not to let these influence our game.
Banvit’s head coach Dimitrios Itoudise said that his team was mentally not ready to play the game. „We got a good win in local league against Galastasary and we weren’t 100% in the game tonight. Kalev wanted this game more than we did, and they deserved to win. Now we have to focus on defending our home court in next games in EuroCup.
