Great game but a loss04-04-2016

BC Kalev/Cramo showed great spirit and team play with their performance against Russian powerhouse Kazan UNICS, even after their play-off chances disappeared this season. At home they managed to go on a 12:1 run in the final minutes of the game only to lose in overtime  84:89 (35:45, 75:75).

Gregor Arbet was the top scorer for Kalev with 19 points while Freimanis added 17 against his old club and Shawn King had another double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds. For the visitors, 2 player were on fire – both Keith Langford and Anton Ponkrasov had 30 points, Ponkrasov also had 10 rebounds and 7 assists while Langford got hot in the overtime when he scored 9 points!

Kalev made 13 of their 26 long range shots, was tied in the offensive rebounding category and made 12 turnovers. Unfortunately again the free-throw race was lopsided, Kalev got only 7 points from the line against opponents 22.

Kalev/Cramo and UNICS have now played 12 times in different leagues in which Kalev has only won once. But today’s loss is the smallest of the lost games.
