BC Kalev/Cramo lost their fourth game in a row in FIBA Europe cup in a dramatic fashion. With the opportunity to win the game with the last possession, Kalev couldn’t get a shot off and lost by 1 point 66:67
(36:35 to Rishon LeZion Maccabi. Kalev who is still winless has lost all their chances to qualify to top 32.
Kalev, who led almost all of the first half, got stuck in the fourth quarter and found themselves 10 points behind the hosts but with a 12:2 spurt they managed to climb back in the game. Last 21 seconds Kalev had the chance to win the game but couldn’t get a shot off while basically dribbling until the final whistle. Sten Sokk had 16 points with 4 made threes, while Arbet and Freimanis both added 10 points. Kalev had 11 turnovers today and had 8 offensive boards against opponents 6. They also made 8 of their 27 three point shots but the nail in the coffin were freethrows – they made only 12 shots from 23 attempts.
Darryl Monroe was on fire for Maccabi with 18 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists, Chris Wright added 15 and Scott Dawson 10 points.
