2017 started rough for BC Kalev/Cramo who lost to hosts VEF in Riga 66:78 (31:42). Second quarter 16:0 run was one of the key moments of the game, despite being down double digits, Kalev managed to climb back to a 5 point deficit in the last quarter but that was it. VEF did not give them any more room and took the win at home. For Kalev it was their 9th loss in 11 games while VEF has 5 wins in 10 games which puts them on the 6-7th place in VTB.
Demonte Harper scored 18 points (7/18 from the field), grabbed 8 rebounds and dished out 4 assits. Erik Keedus had 14 while making 4/10 from the deep, Sten Sokk contributed with 11 points and Cedric Simmons controlled the glass with 14 rebounds. For VEF Martins Meiers had 15 points, 34 year old Janis Blums 14 and Mareks Mejeris 13 points. Three more players scored in double-digits one of whom was ex-Kalev player Armands  Škele who was one of the key pkayers in the 16:0 run.
